On June 28 2019, in the Future Science and Technology City Academic Exchange Center, the ceremony of the construction start-up and contract signing of major projects in the second quarter of 2019 from Yuhang District was held. District leaders Zhang Zhenfeng, Chen Rugen, RuanWenjing, Shen Yu, Zhu Zhenwei and Li Zhongyu attended. Construction of 17 major projects with a total investment of about 26.7 billion yuan was started intensively, and 36 major projects with a total investment of about 16 billion yuan were collectively signed.

The project Innovative Institute of Basic Medical Sciences of Zhejiang University (Yuhang)which was jointly established by the school of Basic Medical College of Zhejiang University and Management Committee of tYuhang Economic-technological Development Area was also signed as one of 36 major projects on the spot. Dean Wang Qingqing of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of Zhejiang University took part in the signing ceremony as signing representative. Secretary Shao Jimin, deputy dean Yang Wei, assistant dean Zhou Yiting and department director Lin Haiyan attended the signing ceremony.

The project Innovative Institute of Basic Medical Sciences of Zhejiang University (Yuhang)will rely on the advantagesof the school of basic medicine of Zhejiang University in discipline, talent and academic achievements, as well as integrate the intellectual resources of experts in the field of medicine at home and abroad, building a high-level biomedical innovation transformation base with the goal of Innovation-Driven, Local-Service, Achievement-Transformation, Market-Oriented. It will help Zhejiang University become the first-class university and build the first-class discipline as well as assistant the construction of Hangzhou Yuhang Economic-technological Development Area.
